Door Handle Problem :(

   Alright chaps,
   
   I've a problem with my drivers side door handle - the one on the exterior. Basically once I've opened the door the handle fails to retract into the closed position therefore once I'm sat inside and attempt to close the door.. it doesn't! To solve this I need to manually push the door handle back in.
   
   Does anyone know how I can fix this? I'm pretty sure it's just an adjustment somewhere or maybe some lubrication?

   Door rod on the inside may have came loose from the locking mechanism, take the door card off and have a look inside

   well if its opening the door then it won't be the rod loose and its only a tiny rod about 3cm long with lots of 90 degree bends to the lock, i have just removed the handle on my car, would sound like the springs or it catching on something. i would just have a look around behind the door card for anything obstructing the movement.
   
   Is there a spring like feel when the handle is pulled? is there more resistance than normal? if yes to both questions sounds like the springs in the handle are rusty.
   
   tbh i would just take the door card off and have a gander and methodically deduce what is obstructing movement then if there is nothing i would look to the springs and give them a coating of WD40.

   There does seem a slight feeling of resistance yes, not much though. I reckon it just needs lubricating or maybe there is something in the way behind there. It does feel like the mechanism has dried up some what when I have to manually put the handle back.

   Did lubricating the handle solve your problem or was there something else?
   
   This same issue has just been added to the growing list of little things I need to correct on mine!

   The door rod had come loose from the locking mechanism, i just hooked it back up and it was fine

   Mine was solved with WD40 in the end - door card off, WD40 on, result.

   hi, the door on our saxo has recently been playing up and it now wont open at all i think i need to fix the door rod as you mentioned above. Could you tell me how you do this and any advice how to get the door panel off as we cant open the door?
