eml on!

    hi.

i got a vtr roughly a year ago, and ever since the orange engine lights on? the guy that had it before me has put a cat back peco exhuast on, butwhen i ran the car on a diagnostics it said a cat ageing fault even though it flew through mot with no problems and the emissions were wll within limits? i have been thinking it could be a faulty lambda, my vtr has the cat in the downpipe and two sensors. i dont want to replace the cat or the lambda incase its not one of them. but surely if the cat was knackered it wouldnt have passed mot??

the eml on hasnt affected the running of car, and hasnt really bothered me but i want to sort it out. it hasnt gone to "limp home mode" but more recently ive started to use more fuel?? and know its not my right foot lol! any suggestions as were to go from here? anyone know wats best to replace? cheers guys appreciate your help.

The lambda's should of re adjusted after about 200 miles and ur eml should of gone out then, sometimes the eml doesn't go out and it stays on because it has the fault code stored, this is when it needs to b re-set by summit like a tec 2. The lambda's on the 3 plug ecu's, which is what u have, work on a closed loop system, which means the ecu has parameters for both lambda's and if one is fuked the whole system is fuked!

only got peco backbox on,EML on ,think its just coincidence, mot due shortly, car seems to run ok.sometimes contact wires on lambda need a clean and ok again

sorry manta3000, do u say u have a peco or are u quoting from mine lol?? so if i take out the sensors, clean em n wipe the light off...it should stay off? is there any way i can determine wether or not it is the sensors?? cheers
