  1. #1
Just bought some 205gti 1.9 alloys and going to refurb them in white...

Ive refurbed a few sets off alloys now and always used a metalic colour and then lacquer.. i did one set in white but couldnt get a high gloss finish

Basically i was just wondering what the best paint is to use to refurb them in white, ovi i will prep correctly and primer, shall i just use gloss white then lacquer or shall i pic a metalic white colour them laquer?? : S halfords paint obviously!!!

    Any Help will be great

I thought you just used the 3 for 2 paint offer thingy at Halfords :/. That paint.

Appliance white is ultra bright and glossy if you put the right amount of coats on - lacquering them will take the gloss effect off them mate as it will make the white duller

as said i've done a bit with 'appliance gloss white' and it comes up well. doesn't need laquering either. but, once they're painted, give them a few days to fully harden then polish themm with a good wax. otherwise brake dust will weld itself to the paint

You need to get a specific white, not just any white.

BMW alpine white or Audi ibis white for example.

i used these guys when refurbing £180 for all 4 wheels, rattle cans wont come close to the finish u get from powercoating.
