i was just wondering if i buy a big tub of that to do the back of my car would i be able to go stright over what iv done already with that??? or will i have to sand it all down then go over it ???

i would probably just sand down what you have already and leave it at that, theres no point spending extra money when it is only going to crack anyway.

leave it as it is and dont spend anymore money, you will never get the results you want with filler.

i take it you have fillered the lot and not welded a plate?

na mate i bolted a plate on there and then fibre glassed the rest of it until the last few layers i put easy sand filler on but was thinking about sanding it down and then just skiming it over again with some easy sand filler to get a better smoother result because it isent pritty smooth at all

if it was me i would just sand it all back so its nice and smooth and then spray over it.

the more filler you have the more likely it is to crack.

ino mate but its like the side come in curved then it goes flat and it dont look right i just want to make it more rounded if you get what i mean its hard to explain

id just flat the paint off before applying more filler to create a key......less chance of it falling off a month later then.

thats all i wanted to no rely mate lol if i had to sand it down so it would stick like, but it shouldent fall off should it ??

it depends how much filler has been applied mate. The problem with filler is eventually it will start to sink and crack.....once this happens water gets in the cracks and makes it break off. Should be fine for a long time though.

sand off the paint that you have applied already, and sand into the existing bodyfiller to give a scratched surface,
then whack on some more filler get it to the shape you and with a decent few layers of high build primer you'll be right,
as long as you dont slam the tailgate like you hate it it'll be fine.
it's unusual that you wont have to go over it repeatedly to get it right,
so just keep trying until you do.
