chroming/sanding

   hey people
   
   just thought id show you what im doing with the top part of the engine
   
   sanding it down right to the metal to get that chrome effect
   
   its taking about 5 hours so far and thats not even it done yet.....
   
   any tips are welcome thanks

   sanding it down to the metal?... surely thats gonna look nice for like a week and then start to go rust orange?... or are you protecting it somehow?

   we got some polish type stuff. its ment to protect it some how. if it works it works if not ill just pay a place to do it lol

    Thats not chroming!
    Thats just removing the paint and polishing the metal up!
    WILLbe alot of work to keep clean amd shiney.mine used to require polishing every other week.
    
    Chroming repuires all traces of oil and grease to be removed, they are then coated in copper and then chrome.gives a much better amd longer lasting finish that is easier to keep shiny
    
    either way replace the bolts, i can supply a nice shiny set!

    Just put paint stripper on it and leave it for an hour or 2 then scrap it, that what i did with mine then polished it but to be fair it dont last long before it get dirty so i sprayed mine the colour of my car.

    using a protector metal polish so that should work

    Its still not a chrome finish!
    Just polishd steel!
    And even useing the likes of peek polish you will be forever redoing it!

    oh the black bits now silver looks really nice! its still waiting to go on car i need to order new bolts and seal etc... when its on car il defo post a pic up ok
