time for something different i think. me my mate just sprayed his whole car in spray can primer, took us a while but it dont look too bad. hes now laquered it as he wants to stick with it, so was thinking about spraying the whole of mine satin black as i heard if you spray a whole car in a gloss colour using spray cans it will be shit but matt or satin paints dont look too bad. what do you think? satin black with black wheels and white details? or another bloody bright colour
Done the bright colour route...

#7Apart from the bonnet which looks a bit slap dash - the rest of the car looks spot on - good job
-
#8lol the car isnt finished in those pics mate. looking through my phone now for the finished car.
-
#9
i rather like that
he deserves a clap for going from the norm
-
#10
lol was my idea to stick with the primer. he didnt think he would like it, told him to laquer the boot (first bit sprayed) and he really liked it.
-
#11

Thats it finished, paint wise. bumpers arent fixed properly, hence the big gaps. -
#12Looks pretty cool imvho but I bet its ultra hard to get a reflection out of lol unless you have put plenty of lacquer on
-
#13I'm not sure on this one catching on, but then again thats been said more than once and proven wrong! lol. Its different, i'll say that.
-
#15Meh hes not bothered, he likes it. he built it for himself no one else, as all cars should be done. hes also got mahoosive engine build on the way, its gonna be evil. watch this space and 106 oc.

#16Back to the question at hand lol. what do people think of me spraying the whole of mine satin black with black wheels and white details like mirror caps, roof and twin fans?
-
#17Look up beaniemoo
satin black sax right there
tbh doing something different really needs imagination and IMO it's more putting a new twist on things
like beaniemoo put a new twist on the euro thing with his paint
it's taking something onestep further -
#18I think i have seen his sax in fast car, tbh thats where i got the idea from lol. Bright colours are played out now imo.
im going to canada for a couple of months next week, might get some inspiration from them lol... no chrome though.
i do agree, that in todays scene, you have to try something different or people just slate you for copying but even trying something different dosent always turn out right. -
#19satin black would look good, i don't know if i would with white bits, a photoshop will help.
-
#20Thats what im trying to decide whether white would suit satin. have asked for a pshop, if it looks dodgy will just spray the wheels black and leave it at that
-
#21i like it burny lol.
-
#22Interesting. I had allways thought about the idea...
Kinda sleeper look
-
#23sad for noticing but rear drums on a gti?
-
#24I've never been a fan of black wheels on a black car as it can sometimes look like your alloys have either been nicked or you simply don't have any.Quote:Back to the question at hand lol. what do people think of me spraying the whole of mine satin black with black wheels and white details like mirror caps, roof and twin fans?
saying that, the white details would definitely make it unique.
agree with the photoshop trial first -
#26nicee but i think the front need lowering a bit more just to make it level
nice work
-
#27yup thats a fairly old pic its lowered now. speedbumps=
-
#28nice, good he did it himself too.
-
#29lacker looks good you doin yours by can ???
