saxo vts alarm going off all the time

hello there, ive always been into me vauxhalls but i thought a need a change and bought a saxo vts 03 plate in 'wicked red', the car is unreal a love the french scene , but 1 thing thats p*ssing me off about it is that the alarm keeps going off when a use the fob, ive had it a few days now but i had the door open after work talking to some 1 while it warmed up, when i got in i noticed there was water coming from the alarm sensor on the drivers side front window piller, i took it off and blew the water from it but now the alarms going off all the time, its a standard alarm system and ive heard people say the a nightmare and there always faulty, i just wanna know, how do you disconnect the alarm as id rather get rid of it all together. cheers

I've got the same problem. If you press the alarm button on the dash before you lock the doors the alarm wont start screaming.

It gets a bit boring after a while and I need to find a permanent solution.

rather than disconnect the alarm, theres a button near the hazard button like a speaker with a cross though it... hold the button down when the keys are out of the ignition wait until the little red light comes on just to the left of it. then get out the car lock with the fob and enjoy a good nights sleep! this disables the motion sensors which are usually the problem causer's but the alarm will still go off if a door/boot is opened. hope this helps

alarms are very tricky best thing to do is to take it to a local auto spark who will professionally disable it for you as ive found on previous saxos butchered wires are best avoided when imobiliser and ecu's are concerned

You can just unplug the wiring loom from the siren in the passenger side of the engine bay (brown plug)

The central locking and flashing lights will still work - they will even flash whan the alarm should go off, you just won't hear the siren!

Just behind the passenger headlight you will see the siren (black cube) with the brown plug attached to it. Use a screwdriver to prise the clip down and pull the plug away

Surely there must be a way of sorting it out other than disconnecting it?

    i have this problem aswell

someone suggested that if there is a problem with the battery or alternator and the power to electrics is low it could cause the alarm to disfunction?

i know the conections on my battery terminals are abit loose so this could be the problem....may be the same with yours?

Apparently the sensors are very sensitive.

But surely the car wasn't like that when it rolled out of the factory so why did they just turn 'very sensitive' all of a sudden?

best way to control it ive found that hold the button on the dash near the hazard light switch with the mute type picture on it just before you get out with keys out of the ignition and everything off as your about to get out, it will glow solid red, get out and lock with fob, the alarm will be activated on the bonnet, doors and boot and will only go off if these are tampered with. finally got to the bottom of it, cheers peeps

Had this problem when i first got mine go to a breakers or ebay and get a new set of sensors and just swap them over fixed mine

by the way the button on the dash turns off the sensors so if someone does your window and climbs throught it then they can still your car with out the alarm even going off it will only go off if the doors , boot or bonnet is opened hope this helps

i always wondered what that little button next to the hazards was for, will give it a try as my VTS has been getting me up at 4am with the alarm constantly going off, if i try this at least and it does solve the problem i know i need some new sensors!
