Hello there, new to the forum, got my vts about a month ago totally standard, picked it up for £600 yes thats rite £600 so was a bit of a steal realy!!!!! :

ive modded the exterior to my liking and also the interior which is as follows:

Lowered 60 at the front, rear adjusted to match
White vts alloys refurbed wrapped in toyo proxes
    Debadged front grill
    Rear badges sprayed gloss black
    De-wipered boot lid
    Raised bonnet
    Aerial removed
    Black metal plates
    Fully stripped interior
    Corbeau buckets (pair of)
    Sparco harnesses (pair of)
    Battery re-located to boot
    Enclosed induction kit
    Decat pipe

thats it so far, ive leftperformance modifications out so far as wasnt sure what route to go down, throttle boddies or turo!?!

Now im looking into getting it turbod! where would be the best place to buy a turbo kit from as i am more than able to fit myself and aren't too keen on paying thousands to get one fitted!!!

Any ideas let me no asap!!!!!!!!!!!

or if any of you have any turbo parts for sale let me no!!!!!

Also is there supercharger kits out there on the market for these tu engines? ? ? ? ? as a friend of mine had a 205 gti with a supercharged gti-6 lump in and it was mental!!! and would love to get a saxo to the same sort of spec.

I wouldn't turbo a engine from the off if I'm honest. Do Cams, re-map, induction kit, exhaust system etc.

And theres somewhere in the NW that does a Turbo fitted for £500, but I wouldn't trust it.

Looks pretty good. Those plates are probs illegal tho, so watch out when your driving.
Does cituning do a turbo kit?

Those are minor gains in comparison to a turbo though.

But a Turbo, you would rather have a stronger engine than a standard one.

wasting money if boost is the final plan

    mani will be no use
    nor will induction kit

and n/a and boost cams are very different and cant be used on the other application tbh (ie a set of newman ph3 which is a nice popular n/a camshaft set is useless on boost)

Ah, yeah, you need to upgrade other stuff ideally, extra power, you'd want better brakes, suspension, the basics of course, strengthen the engine to cope with the increase in power.

obviously id look at upgrading all the relavant parts when turboing a car, thats just common sense tbh!!
i looked into throttle bodies but thought it was alot of work for not as much power as boosting, so id opt for the turbo, i no its alot of work but it i think it would be more worthwhile!

ye cituning do do a turbo kit if your prepared to pay an arm and a leg for it!! but i suppose it would all be decent stuff an nock off nigel cheap shit!!

ye i no, picked them up from trax at the wekend just to see how they looked, i mite try my luck with them on for a while too!!

You deffinitely won't have luck with those plates, opposed to French plates the police can VERY easily see they are illegal.
  16. #16
very nice bargin how you find it?
  17. #17
i was judt searching through ebay and found it on there, gave them a ring n went n picked it up!! simples!!

don't turbo a standard engine, it will break, uprate the other stuff first, ie suspension and brakes then start at the engine with cams, mani, gearbox, etc then go to a turbo if you think its not enough. i personally don't like adding a turbo to a car which was not designed for one, just not worth the hassle, mind you though a car which came with a turbo as standard are great

The worst advice really for ££££.

As cams and then a remap will then see you needing another map (ecu) and if wild cams used, totally the wrong set of cams for a boosted engine.

On topic GMC for all things boost.

Many people have run long term and with good power on OE engines.

i would see no reason not to turbo a standard engine if some time, thought, money and effort is put in, a low boost set up would see you good gains and not strain the engine to much if the mapping is good then you onto a winner, for a cheap boost thrill lookinto a mf2 and sigcon for the managment side of things and run a 5th injector, if your after a high boost set up then money will have to be spent im afraid, but its worth it in the long run bring on the wwwhhhhaaammm tttsshhh!! haha good luck

So true. The old DP cars were 200+ bhp on a just about stock engine :Y: clutch were the real problems. They ended up using Helix group N and then moved on to AP lug drive. Not cheap

fitting a turbo will NOT damage ur engine all it does is forces air into the air filter making it run richer this is only a tempory performance increase the only down side is you will have to completly customise your manifold as it is spun by the exaust gasses but its entirely up to you good luck

    more air makes it leaner
you then up the fuel to compensate keeping the mixture of air/fuel about the same

and it will as it creates a lot more force on the pistons rods and crank due to the bigger bang pushing them down

what? why, harnesses are road legal.

Some pretty random advice in this thread.
