people with smoked mk2 headlights

   i have finally got time tommorrow to do mine and i was just wondering do people paint the inserts matt black or do they laquer them to make them nice and shiny. pics of both would be good
   
   i have already done my fogs matt and i think its looks great

   I may do this to mine, cant decide wether to get angels or smoke the standards though. I rekon a satin black would look best though, rather than mat or gloss.

   whats the difference between satin and matt? i thought they were the same

   satin is in between gloss and matt, has i very slight shine to it. Looks really good!

   If you decide that matt is to dull (before you put them back together)
   You can always lacquer them

    i just sprayed mine black with no lacquer.

    Word of advice for you here
    
    The indicator lense.... take it off and spray the chrome behind black aswell, stops that horrible yellow look and once the lense is back on looks smooked out aswell
    
    Still flashes perfectly fine and is fully vissable even with my HID's, and it recently passed an MOT also.
    
    Its a must when smoking the headlights imho

    I used the saxo black rattle can from halfraaauds, didn't laquer them though.
    
    Recommend once you've done them, get the clear indicator bulbs to "de-tango" it

    i used plasticote satin black , as said before be very careful with the indicator lense as i broke both whe doing mine so you were warned lol,
    
    it depends on the colour of your car aswell satin really suits a silver saxo

    does anyone have any pics of satin smoked headlights? if they look better than simons then i will get some satin paint

    i heard it was illegal?were does it stand with the old law does anyone know?i wad thinkin of doin it..is there any how to guides on here?and my car is white/blue...does anyone know which paint is best to use?and where i can get it from?would it be just normal plastic paint? and what do we think about doin them white?do u think it will look too similar to the silver?cheers

    i did mine in satin black and then a coat of clear on them
