Right, went to get some winter wheels for the golf yesterday, gash pair of Polo Match SPORT alloys..ewwww. one is painted black, and the rest need a good polish. Now ive aread a guide somewhere and the guys tarted with 400 grit and went to 600 800 100 1500 and finally 2000,using the good old wet sand method

Now,i'm lazy and want to get 2 wheels done by this afternoon....cna i not start with say 800 grit go to 1500 then 2000?
The wheels only have some slight surface scuffs

are you tryin to prep for paint? if so use like a 1000 grade sand paper and go all out on them til they are like a matt finish...

then wash them off and use some wet and dry until mega smooth, andthen wash again, dry, primer and wet and dry again... then paint... then laquer!

and you are done... 2 wheels in a day? your mad!

i spent about 4 hours on the prep of each wheel. its all in the prep lad

If you want a shit outcome and want to go through shit loads of the same grade sand paper then you can.

Also, you prep with sand paper and polish with rubbing compound.

youll just regret it if you dont do it properly.

As said above, Polishing compound and a rotary polisher. Itll take AGES.
