saxo vtr with no boxes in exhaust?power loss?

   my mate wants to get rid of his centerbox tomorow, he only has that box atm, he has a backbox which tbf has hardly any baffles in it, and he wants them removed too! how loud would it be? would power be effected at all?

   without baffles it would effect it, moving the power further up the rev range (only slightly)
   why you would want it so loud i dont know as you will get in bother with the law constantly etc... but each to there own

   Why does he want to remove it? You can just get a centre section without a box.

   because its cheap to remove centerbox, centerbox is HUGE on his exhaust, im worried its gonne lose power and sound like a fart?

   And you can get saxo centre sections without a box on ebay for £13 brand new...

   more then likley be the cat, and is he bodging more pipe into the gap or actually buying a slincer less pipe? as bodging more pipe in will more then likley lose power

   shouldnt do really as long as the welds dont leak (blow) and its fitted correctly

   i think its better air flow so it wont lose power with out a centerbox
   get a Supersprint centre pipe

   I swapped from a pipe with no boxes in to one with one, and noticed a gain in torque...

    if you weld in extra pieces of pipe gasses won't flow through it as well. Its the gas speed that effects the performance.

    raceland manifold, and a fucked up pikey exhaus from the manifold back! its just 1 piece of 2" pipe from the manifold back with a gay centerbox the size of your sister init and a backbox the size of a house brick with hardly any baffles!...
    
    Hes bein gay and wants me to get the centerbox out of it, £13 for a centerboxless pipe yea, but either way it wont work as the gay thing on it atm has no flanges

    nah theres a flange for the mani/center bt from center to back box its 1 piece

    Well if he gets a decent exhaust system he shouldn't lose power, supersprint are good, straight through to the back box, giving enough back pressure to perform. Just depends on what you do, sounds like he needs a full mani back system tbh.

    is hes on a budget get the 1.1 pipe from flee bay like said and get a sportex backbox also ebay, should around 60 all in

    had it done for £20, fucking HORRIBLE but has more top end pull.. this is with 1.75" manifold back with NO boxes lol
