my vts lacking speed

    I have a mk2 vts 2001 plate..

But its lacking the speed the vts should be having the old mk1 vtr with no mods is keeping up with my vts why is this

I have a enclosed induction kit with an performance backbox but still it lacks speed... Im wondering if that it was treated badly before I bought it so the engine fooked...

Whats the cheapest way to gain lil more speed etc....

You should check your engine as it is without buying mods to make it faster.
Obviously under powered give it a service new plugs and take it from there.
Has the Timing Belt been done recently if it has could be out a tooth or so causing a lack of power
You should be able to see off a mk1 VTR no bother

first thing first give it a good service, check the timing is all good then go from there.

Mods wise usual 4 branch manifold and a cat back exhaust system see how it goes then even my old standard 16v used to be ok

Yeah as said, give it a good service, air/oil/fuel filters changing and get some good oil in there. After that whip the 'performance parts' off and return it to standard to see if they are causing the issues, after all a badly mounted induction kit is only going to restrict air flow.. you never know?

your piston rings could be worn, nakered transmission etc.. it could be loads of things
