Removing rear tow eye

   As ive seen a car on here with it done (matt yates i think), ive decided i might go for that aswell, afterall what the hell is a 1.1 going to be able to tow without burning the box out?
   
   However, i told my dad about doing this & he seems to think the law says it needs to be there, now i dont want to remove it & smooth it out in the bumper for my car to fail on its mot (as some mot stations maye be more stricter then others).
   
   So is it safe to remove this or will i be breaking the law?

   Never heard of it being the law to have one, plus I dont think the police would pull you for it.

   Its just wether or not it would get through an mot.

   Its for towing things...
   
   Therefore I reckon it doesnt matter a shit for an MOT. Its none essential for everyday driving, and not having it wont affect the safety of other road users.
   
   Dont think Matt's had any bother either...
