dont know if anybody can help but i put a post up last week about the preformance of my saxo vtr and got no helpful replies, basicilly its acting like a twat and is slower than a friends 1.4 saxo, i took it 4 diagnostics and it came back with a knackered lambda and the carbon dioxide canister being faulty, i changed the lambda and it remained the same, im suspecting its something 2 do with the gearbox because it isnt the original and the acceleration is terrible (has anyone had problems as a result of a gearbox change?) please someone help me out with this problem thanks.

#3If its that much power loss it shouldnt be down to you lambda sensor mate.
Hows does the car sound when driving, any whining, crunches etc from the box?..
How do you know it isnt the original, top speed? -
#4there is a slight wihne but dont know if its from the box other than that nothing its abit stiff aswell through the gear shift, and i know its a different box cus i got it cheap cus the box was knakered and changed it.

#5best to cnahge the oil in the box first make sure its no the wrong oil they have put in it as av seen tht happin before if the gears are stiff.
was the lamba senser realy dirty? mibi a blocked cat mate -
#6i did the box and the oil is the correct 1 checkd with autodata, the lambda wasnt that bad, an its decated its sounds asif the power is there because it hits flat spots when changing from 1st to 2nd and the engine doesnt die then all of a sudden it starts to accelerate again, dont know if this helps but it tops out at 50 in 2nd dont know if anybody else goes higher, my mate said his used to.

#7i know i have a 1.1 but when my cat packed in the car would go normally untill about 40MPH and not go any further it may be a higher MPH for a VTR? but it would make a bore noise... could be that... or i could be talking like a twat lol

#8have you cleaned throttle body and checked air mass sensor, failing that check ur throttle clip that holds throttle cable,my mate had same problem as what u described
