Bilstein Dampers and Springs PLEASE HELP!!!

  1. #1
Hi everyone, I need some help! im looking to lower my 02 VTR, and in a perfect world (pedantic i know) i would like the top of my tyre to sit perfectly in line with the middle top of the arch. Ive found two links on ebay for some Bilstein Dampers with springs, one says 40mm (on a vtr will be 30mm) and the other with 60mm (50mm)
What I dont get is, why doesnt a 50mm spring lower the car 50mm?! eg if i got a tape measure out and measured 50mm down from the arch, a 50mm spring wont do so... so which of these two links should i get to lower the car how i want to? Thanks in advance for any help... James (ps, Ive searched loads so dont shout at me!)

depends on a few things as to why it doesnt lower exactly as stated

    weight of car
    how hard the springs are
    and more..

a 60mm kit should get the tyres inline with the arch. although just get used to no speed bumps lol

you mean you want the arch to come half way down the side wall?

If so how are you going to get full lock with rubbage?
what about when the suspension compresses and the tyre hits the top of the arch liner?

the only real way i can see you getting it that low is coilovers and super stiff spring rates

i dont think he wants it that low im sure he wants it so the arch is the same height as the top of the tire not halfway down the tire sidewall and ive got 60mm spax springs on mine and they look good

in the first pic it looks a tad high cus thats just after i fitted the springs and that lanky git in the photo aint me lol just fort id get that in haha

Eibach 50mm springs should give near enough that sort of drop pictured above (with VTR wheels). Maybe even the 155lb 45mm Faulkners from Kam.

Can't say I know of any good quality 60mm springs I'd be happy fitting with Billies.

Sorry, like what jeffchiz said, id like the top of the tyre at the top of the arch, not the rim! haha! So 60mm it is! Sorted, thanks so much for your help (:
