180bhp through Supersprint?

  1. #1
Will a supersprint race back box flow 180bhp through it, or will it become a restriction?

Does anyone know what size inlet the backbox uses?

Its to fit a mildly tuned vauxhall C20XE you see...

its 50mm bore mate so should be ok.

there identical to the saxo omp ones used on whatever decent spec group n cars

50mm bore will be fine - you might need bigger to get over 200bhp.

c20xe? standard red top, the non turboed one? if so how did you get it to 180 bhp?

the standard redtop c20xe is about 152 brake standard gouldy - i beleive.

Theres a guy on the corsasport forum that has his turbo c20let running 500+ brake - link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibo83nsu8UM so power can be made out of both engines easily

the power is restricted on it 1st through 3rd as it is that powerful it just doesnt grip. he can out his foot down in 6th (yes it has a 6 speed box) and it still spins up!

for me the best thing about that car is that its 100% built by him and his mates on his drive at home

That tigra I think is now a v6 turbo it's my mates cousin, same mate is also putting 500Bhp+ into a corsa 5 stud conversion etc he took off the nova turbo he bought. Bearing in mind his clutch kit alone cost nearly 1k

C20XE's have been to known to make over 300bhp N/A. They are highly tuneable, which is why they are/were widely used in motorsport.

Get a standard xe lump, stick it on carbs and it'll be upto 170bhp.

Mine is an early GTE lump, with no lambda sensors or traction control which makes 156bhp as standard. Mines got autosprint cams, oversize valves and a ported head, again from autosprint, billet flywheel and a remap at Aldon motorsport. Along with the usual breathing mods (PowerPoo zorst, CDA air filter) it made 178.8bhp at the fly @ 6800rpm.

Im running an F16 close ratio box with an LSD. Previous owner ran a 14.2 quarter in it, before the diff was fitted.

I wont be going any further with it though. Its my daily driver and i want to keep it reliable. Dont want to delve into the bottom end really!

If i were to run it on ITB's i am led to believe 200bhp could be achievable. Pretty mental considering it's an N/A and wouldnt cost that much to build.

that the tigra that was doing the 0-60 at TRAX . . . fuck me it flew!
