Removing sunroof.

  1. #1
Well, Was working on the car when I slipped and fell on the rooflining so it came out
Now i'm looking at getting rid of the sunroof, Never use it plus need a bit more clearance so i can wear a helmet.

Any companies make a panel that just places on top and bolts on from the underside?

would be eaiser to weld a plate in, will be easier to smooth out and all that jazz.

only other way is to buy the roof panel from pug, which is about £92

true, but just finding a decent body shop.
I could probably make my own, Have some sheet steel, just need some bolts welded on the underside then make some fixings.

Its £130 and the costs of fitting will be pretty expensive on top of that.

Need to have a good look again but if possible i'm thinking of removing the mech and getting a panel the same size as the glass to fit in so it uses the existing rubber seal, just need to have a way to fit it on then.

Just need to get the bulk out the way so i get a bit more clearance for a helmet.

I dont haz timez or monez to do that, Not like I can do it myself as I don't have a usable garage.

Will still be uber light with all the mech and glass gone.
