if your dont laquer the console it get scratched from the dials etc and will look poo after a few months, if your going to spend ages getting a decent finish then you should laquer it otherwise it wont last

well i've primed all the bits that iw ant spraying. for the door cards,i wanted to get them re-trimmed,but the lil plastic rivets that have been melted pised me off.i've decided to rip of the material, sand down the surface, filler it with body filler, sand it smooth, primer it,then paint it,and then laquer it.its a long process but its gona be worth while.

i will post pics up as soon as i've done it all

I was thinking about doing this to my door cards, but halfords interior paint, says it is also suitable for door material trims, so i have sprayed my door trim silver, as i was a bit worried about drilling the rivets. I have laquered all my interior plastic bits, it does change the colour of the silver slightly but it will keep it looking scratch free for ages.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your door cards though, as that was something else i was thinking about doing. I was asking about it in halfrauds and someone said it would make my doors too heavy? does that sound as crazy as i thought it did? I will upload some pics of my interior soon.
