Just bought some vtr rims and planning to refurb them and stick them on in a few weeks. at the moment i'm down 40mm all round on 15's and was wondering how the car would sit once the smaller wheels are on? is it just a simple case of sitting at the same height but a bigger gap between the top of the wheel and the arch?
From 15's to 14's y0!!

#2i would think there would be a bigger gap between the whell and arch but the car will sit lower to the road aswell i think with having smaller wheels on ?

#3You wont notice any difference. This is due to the new tyre size being a higher profile assuming you will be using the 185/55's.
There is a tyre size and profile calculator somewhere online which measures the combined height of the wheel taking into account the tyre width and profile along with the size rim it will be going on. -
#4Would i be correct in sayin that if you kept the same tyre size ect, the would be a inch differance resulting in 0.5 inch more room in the arch, but sitting 0.5 inch lewer to the ground?

#6thank's for the help guys. think i will go for 185/55 as i need new tyres. any recommendations seeing as i'm on a budget?

#7Using the calculator in the link provided, you will actually have a 3mm larger wheel and tyre size than with a 195/45/15. Assuming your going to be using the 185/55/14
