What Engines Will fit in a SAXO?

  1. #1
I would just like to know what engine will fit in a saxo....for example ive been told a 205 rally engine should fit..but im not sure weather it would

can any1 make me a list of what engine can fit in a saxo please. cheers

Bugatti Veyron fits with loads of mods

do a search mate, this has been brought up many times before!

the biggest you want in a saxo is a vts engine, as anything above that will effect the handling. But im sure that a xsara 2 ltr engine would fit with some mods, but your best modding a vts engine imo

or do what baz_saxo said and put a bugatti veyron 8 ltr v16 quad turbo in it which should just slot in with hardly any mods

not in the front no. and as said before, bike engines have bugger all torque. stick with the vts engine.

easy get a veyron engine in, just get rid of front seats etc and move them into the rear and have a massive engine bay! sorted!

    are you crack baz?lol

Something similar to what PuzzledZippo said, I heard of a Suzuki Hayabusa engine being stuck in a hot hatch of some sort (not in a saxo tho). It was pushing out some proper daft 0-62mph times, 3.2secs!!!!

Personally I'd lurve to stick a 1.4HDI in mine but wouldnt have a clue where start a project like that.

same as Ad, my wee 1.0 is lagging big time!

would love to see someone put in some monster engine in a saxo!
  10. #10
Stick an engine from one of these buggers into a saxo...
    Now thats ^&%^ing monster!

    Its a 360tonne mining truck

Note the cockpit and the air intake
  11. #11

type in z-cars on net its a company north west that will put a hyabusha turbo in, and reduce weight, about 400bhp and 900kg they say.0-60 3 secs top speed 150. This costs about 15k not bad if u think some companies want 5-6k for vts conversions
  15. #15
cheers 4 that m8... but i wouldnt spend 15k on ma saxo..id rather go n buy a vts 4 2 or 3k...but i dont know what companies or garages u guys have been going to... 400 pounds for a vts conversion from a guy i knw...

True Ad, but then again if anyone doesn't type in FULL English they get a good slating about it! as for his car, not so sure on the colour and we know not many people like spoilers!

it was a mini and it had 2 hyabusa engines in it. it was in maxpower about 2 year back

z cars have done a conversion with a motorbike engine in the saxo, what sort of money have you got mate,a vts engine will be best bet cos you would keeo all the handling of the car as if went 2ltr it would be terrible, there is alot to do on the 2ltr conversion mate i would personally keep away
  27. #27
ive heard that the 2.0ltr vts from the xsara might fit into a saxo...but xsara r a hell of a lot bigger...personally i dont think the engine would fit...what do you guys think?
  28. #28
1.6 VTS engine if anything then man. Lot less hassle fitting + cheaper too.
  29. #29
no. not cost worthy to Xsara vts it

charge a vtS for better results wiht power and handling
  30. #30
some companies want 5-6k for vts conversions

engine will cost you around 600, i cant see anyone charging 5/6k to put an engine in, you can buy a vts for 2/3k! you could have 2 for that price or a shit load of engine mods
  31. #31
xsara engines will fit but you would have to get a programable ECU, new drive shafts, fabricate new engine mounts, stiffen the chassis, new gearbox tunnel, etc but it is possible. Do you remember the Dimma kitted, Mi16 engined 106 in max power a while back, well one of my mates built the car and i was talking to him about fitting a 2ltr in a saxo and he recons he could get the car rolling in 2 weeks...
  32. #32
i had a feeling it was possible!!! but the only thing im thinkin is.... are xsara's 4 stud or five??
  33. #33
    4
  34. #34
it is possible but entirely not worth it

can quite easily use the xsara ecu, the gearbox doesnt have a tunnel on the saxo or xsara, agreed its alot of work for a measly 167bhp, vts engine with a good cam and breathing mods might get close to that and the less weight would def be quicker.
