AX Conversions

Anyone shed any light on what works needed for this? I know they run TU engines, so is it just a case of switching mounts and making funky looms? Looking into buying a cheap runaround AX thats reliable but just wondering about putting a 16v in it after Im done.

    Cheers

exactly what you have just said my advice is to go for an Injection AX do not go for a GT or a MK1 AX they need more work to get running.

Just usual case of drop engine in fuel pump swap rewire looms 4 stud conversion job done

Done a quick search on Axownersclub and most of them use VT struts so i'm guessing that all the ax's are 3 stud.

all AXs are 3 stud apart from the GTis but getting a good GTi that aint easy.

You can use any 106/saxo struts you just use the ax springs pans and top mounts mate

but yes if you are mech savvy its easy job done

Nice one, cheers lads. All sounds good to me, only thing Id have to have a ponder about is the loom, fucking hate looms. But everything else would be a right giggle.

Might get a 5 door one and sleeper it lol

Ive wrote a rust guide on axoc which goes thru all the common rust areas to spot, thats all you really need to care about when buying as everything else is easy to replace .

From what ive seen theyre built alot better than a saxo and ive seen plenty of R reg saxos far far rustier than the average M reg AX. Mrs bought a 2000 plate saxo that was twice as rusty as my M reg shell.

I dont want to know how much ive spent on my ax lol. The entire car was £300 quid, the bucket seats alone were £330 2nd hand
