#2i suppose it depends where u get em done?
i place near me quoted £180 for front and back -
#3Moved to correct forum
-
#4i got quoted £160 for all windows
-
#5I had both front and back side windows tinted when i bought the sax, 2 weeks later i got pulled by the police and got a 30 quid fine for the front sides

I've just got the back window and back side's tinted now and it's a pain in the ass to take tints off once there on so make your decision wisely
-
#6apparently theres a law thats come out in jan 2006
that dissallows the back windows to be tints and the front sides, not sure if its true but the law has definately changed
and manufactors are only allowed to tints front windows now apparently -
#7I have been told that it will cost around £180 to £200 for tints. Not sure bout the new laws tho!!! Anybody know any more???
-
#8duno if u got a chips away by you lot but the one near me does it 4 140
-
#9New law states that no tints whatsoever can be applied forward of the B pillar on a vehicle (front windows).
-
#10Yea.. Thats what the copper said to me mate.. The back window and the back sides are fine because it's just like a van he said
-
#11thats crap, i wanted all round tints!!
stupid fucking police and gay boy blair
hes got tints on his Jag so we should be allowed too! -
#12What about Mr BWM X5 and Range Rover?
doubt they'll get pulled for tints with the same light reduction as welding masks.
-
#13so clear this out for me, exatcly how can you tin your car nowadays with the new law ? you can tint the rear windows (all black if you want) but you cant tint the front now ?, its just that im going for tints too, but dont want the hassle form the po po.
-
#14aparently acording to this copper, if the fronts are tinted more than 30% then its illegal.. most windows from the manufacturer are about 15% tinted anyway so it doesnt really give you much room to play with

I didnt even think mine were that dark, when he did the test on them it came back 43% so i failed
-
#15phew.... i was going get 15% light reduction anyway. Still shocking tho, shouldn't police be catching criminals?
-
#16so lets get this topic CLEARED once and for all.... your allowed to tint your front windows to 30% tint or to allow 30% light ? and the rear windows can be pitch black ? god damn uk's funny law's, i see loads of people with pitch black tints all round everyday, noone seems to bother them at all, and yes no one says nothing to the POSH drivers, i.e. BMW and MERCS.... have you ever noticed how the po po let off people with loads of money ? or is this just me ? i feel it though.
-
#17Ok.. From what i was told when i got pulled........
Your Front Screen and Front Side windows need to let in a minimum 70% of the light through.
Manufacture's windows are usually around 15% tint so that leaves you with around 15% you can tint it further.
Your Back Screen and Back Sides can be black as the ace of spades, doesnt matter at all!
As i said, this is what i was told from the copper so it's got to be right ? -
#18Agreed. The police need concentrate on more pressing issues, we've got murderers, suicide bombers and god knows who running around and their pissing about telling us how we can and can't put plastic film on our windows?Quote:Originally Posted by adsayerStill shocking tho, shouldn't police be catching criminals?
Your right tho, anything forward of the B pillar is illegal, behind you can have what you like, unless your windows were tinted before jan 2001, then your allowed to have light smoke only on the fronts - or so i've heard -
#19Would they ask for a reciept to prove it was before jan 2001?
-
#20myself and danes_saxoVTR paid £160 for all round, good price we thought!
-
#21ive just been quoted 100 from someone his mate does em pro!
-
#22i did mine myself, cost me £45 for the film off ebay n about £3 for baby shampoo!! lol
-
#23I got mine done for £150 all round.
-
#24dont think so because you could just say you done them urself...they wouldnt know i sposeQuote:Originally Posted by ImfromwalesWould they ask for a reciept to prove it was before jan 2001?
