Mk1 strut brace problem

   I've got a straight mk1 strut brace that I bought from saxovtsmad and I've got a bmc dia air filter on it and the brace is hitting on it and the brake fluid reservoir. Also when I shut the bonnet it doesn't sit flush at the passenger side headlight

   if its an OMP one, youll need to loop some of the bonnet frame out.

   No it's not omp I don't think. I don't know why it's catching on the bonnet

   ive got the same one on a mk2 aand it touches the bonnet mite get a small washer on the bonnet hinge skrews

   Can u not use an upper strut brace without any problems with the mk1?

   take the bonnet black lifter thing out what holds it up when open.
   
   i done mine for the e-tec brace.
   
   also move the brake thing over abit

    I don't think it's the bonnet stay causing problems. I have moved the fuel cut off. E tech brace is just purely for show it doesn't do much does it

    i took my bmc dia filter off for this one but when u close the bonnet just before u shut it u can feel it just leaning on the bonnet. it will shut but then its putting force on my bonnet catch and i dont want it flying open when driving
    any help?

    My brace was touching the bonnet stopping it from closing at first. I used a large hammer and "tapped" it into position. Looks and sits fine now!

    Tapped the bonnet or the brace? I don't wanna go denting my bonnet

    Daft question, iv got a mk2 vtr. will an upper brace fit without any problems with a standard airbox? Just wondering if it will get in the way? will get an induction kit in time but want to lower and do the works first. Also which one would everyone say is best? sparco, omp etc?
