how hard is it to spray a car a gloss colour with spray cans?
heard the finish is hard to get looking good. was thinking of doing a whole respray in white but wont be able to afford a professional job.

lololol its hard mate i sprayed my front bumper - spent about £60/70 on paint laqure n primer ect, and stone chips are a bitch lol - if your gunna do it, give the laqure a good few WEEKS to dry. i left mine 3 days and thats when the damage happened... its not chiping atall now and tbh it came out really well but it took LOADS of time and money lol - go to a college - im £250 for a full respray in the same colour £450 in a dif (coz of engine bay ect needing done)

oh and by the way, chances are, a £500 respray will be shite you get what you pay for 99% of the time. you dont go into a butcher asking for sausages and expect fillet, ya ken
  14. #14
With spray cans it will be hard, would be better with a spray gun and a compressor, i'm planning on respraying my whole car soon
  15. #15
get it done professionally mate, you'l only regret it if you do it yourself, that is unless you have talent with a can?
  16. #16
Doing a whole car in spray cans would be...Hard, you'd struggle to get a decent finish! especially when it comes to the laquer. to get it done profesionaly your looking at between £1000 and £2500, depending on any repairs needed and if you want inside doors, boot etc done too. id expect a poor job for £500 dude

never thought bout inside doors ect cheers guys

    True.
There is a reason why I spent 3 years as an apprentice in a bmw bodyshop learning how to paint cars.
It's because it's takes talent to get a good job. Spray cans are for spraying your wheels and for chavs to graffiti on walls with.
The easiest way is to scrap your spray can black car (cos you'll never sell it now) and buy a while one as already mentioned.
