Important! : fuel pressure regulator for throttle bodies

  1. #1
Right i got myself some AT power throttle bodies,

i will be running them with PH3 cams

just a few question, am i right in guessing that a vtr FPR will fit on the standard vts fuel rail?

as i know that someone else with AT power throttle bodies and 708 with standard injectors is hitting 100% duty!!

so if i got a vtr FPR will that help with the fueling duty?!

    thanks

yer i know that one way, but that not what i am asking!! lol

i wanted to asee if increasing the fuel pressure regulator pressure will that help with the duty!!

as i was told but a few poeple on here that vts injectors are good for 180 bhp!!!

also i asked john at gmc he also told me that the vts standard injectors should be ok for my set up,

but i was told today that some one else on sort of the same spec hit 100% duty!!

Andy i have the 3.5bar VTR FPR in my fuel rail currently (VTS one is less at 3bar)

Its direct fit as the shape/housing is exactly the same size

Im running larger injectors on mine aswel which i got from GMC

    Hope that helps

    PS You have a PM

If the injectors are already maxxd surely a bigger fpr won't make a difference

Going from 3.0Bar to 3.5Bar should bring the 100% duty down to 90% by my calculations at 180bhp.

If the standard VTS injectors are 220cc then I agree my calcs say you will max out around 180bhp.

You can actually crimp down on an FPR to increase the fuel pressure it holds, but I wouldn't reccomend that unless you know what you're doing.

Clio 172/182 injectors are 250cc of course and would be a good upgrade when used with a 3.5Bar FPR would be good for 200bhp.

if someone is hitting 100% duty with 708's then i'd check their fuel filter

Fuel filter is a good place to start. And I don't know whether the fuel pumps wear themselves out or not.

I'd be very impressed if people were hitting 180bhp with just throttles and cams. Seems like it should be closer to 165bhp area from those who have given me feedback.

    indeed

    ring thanks for the info.

yer i rang gmc and was told that if i increase the fpr on standard injector that would help!

i am only using ph3 and bodies so wil onlw be bout 160 at a push so a vtr fpr should do it.

they told to get the 4.5 one with standard injectors should be ok with the duty.

i am having my injectors cleaned and have a new fuel filter!

    thanks
