how do side mounts work?

   got my vts on the cards,just sorting the cash out as its purely a toy im stripping it out etc but the bucket seats i want are side mounted,now do i have to buy specific subframes to attach to the side mounts or do i buy specific side mounts that just bolt to the floor? getting carbon fibre cobra evolutions

   Side mounts are fairly simple, you bolt the mounts to the floor and the seat to the mount, they sit either side of the seat. Some seats have pre positioned holes some dont. Drill the holes in a generic place so you can tilt the seat forward/backwards to get the seating position you want.
   
   Much easier task when someone holds the seat for you, also I stacked my seat on some bits of wood and messed about until i had it roughly where i wanted it.
