will a C2 VTS engine fit into a saxo vts?

    Hi everyone

    i was just wondering can you fit a C2 vts engine into a saxo vts?

    its not a simple bolt in job no but it can be done, and you need saxo parts still.

    You use the saxo ecu and loom, tap the head and use the J4 inlet manifold, also use the saxo sump and a few other bits

    Also the bottom end on the C2 lump is shite.

    I can build and if required fit the perfect 16v base for tuning, a C2 head on a Saxo/106 bottom end, and replace as many seals, gaskets, rings etc and fit whatever you want along the way such as uprated cams. PM me if interested

    loads different wont fit engine mounts are different and probably loads more not to clued up on this but no engine mounts need sorting

    Couldnt you juse use the JP4 inlet and sump if its the complete engine Ryan?

    Yes it can definately be done, my brother has a throttle bodied C2 VTS engine in his 106 GTI

    I'm just curious as to why the c2/jp4 bottom
    ends are shite compared to j4. Anybody know? Cheers

    If you want to convert the throttle set up, and have a manifold which doesnt link up with the exhaust.

    Aye the Jp4 sump is massive and weak as fuck too somehow. And electric throttles are gayyyy


    Ryan_g86, the pistons are domed and dont have valve cutouts so your limited on how high lift the camshafts you fit are (J4 ones have cutouts and are supposedly stronger too although I cant verify that part myself). The rods are also thinner and weaker and arent fully floating like J4 ones are.

    What does the "inlet manifold" have to do with the exhaust Ry?

    Hes on about the fact the exhaust mani is a lot longer/deeper, as is the sump, so basically the C2 exhaust mani will be scraping along the floor attached to nothing.

    Hence the J4 mani and J4 sump

    I didnt mention the word inlet in the post regarding the sump
