i have a mk1 vtr and i now have the opportunity to put some more horses into my car..
been offered two things:
either put a
silvertop vtr head from 03 vtr
brand new piper 285 camshafft
piper valve springs
3 way angle valve seats
head ported and polished
titanium valve caps
and when i get some more money a series 1 rallye inlet manifold on it and a re-map
or
put a standard VTS engine in
i was thinking the new head at first as it will literally just slide on a a little bit of adjusting and a new cambelt, head gasket and head bolts which will all together cost about 500 pounds
i then thought it will be just as fast as a vts..
the only problem is i dont want to be running into any problem when fitting the new engine.
i will need to buy a new clutch, cambelt, new manifold ect on it.. and run the risk of driving it without the engine declared,, i would declare it but my insurance will go through the roof as im only 18.
this will probably cost around 650+ but i could also cam it in a few months and make it even faster..
what do you lot think...
