new manifold and exhaust combo

   I've just put a piper manifold on my vtr along with a magnex fullsystem and to be honest it sounds wank! it really does sound terrible. Im getting flat spots all over the place and was just wondering why this is? car was running and sounding nice before the manifold was put on...
   
   
   It sounds like it's blowing from where the exhaust and manifold meet but ive checked it all out and there doesnt seem to be any gaps or holes any ideas or have i just bought a shit manifold?

   av you put both lamda sensors back in, one needs to go in a sleeve and one in the manifold else it ul run shite, take it that ur mk2 vtr yeah

   mine sounds like its blowing iv got the same set up as you apart from iv got piper all the way through

   the thing is i ordered the manifold for my mk2 and they sent me a mk1 but i had no choice but to fit it as my standard manifold was broken.
   
   so if only one sensor is functioning thats why its running shit?

   yeah is your engine diagnostic light on
   
   you will need to buy a lamba sleeve from gmc motorsport £11 i think
   this tricks the sensor so it makes your car run right

   will this improve the sound as well as the performance? If not I'm getting rid of the manifold

   well the light will go out
   
   wont do anything for the sound
   
   it might give a performance increase as it will be running better as long as theres no other problems with the car

   Pfft, I'll see what the crack is with these lil sleeves then and then take out the center box section of the zorst...that should do the trick

   give it to me ill look after it for you heehee it needs 2 lambas one to read before and one after its only getting one reading at the mo so thats why its running off nothing wrong wit the fold itself just its on the wrong car! a mk2 one will sound and run a treat

    ok mate no worries you could get a local fabricators to make you a sleeve but it will prob work out cheeper and quicker to get 1 from gmc
    
    iv had no problems with mine
    
    check that the lamba sensor which is in is tight that might be blowing

    im looking into why i was sent the wrong one as we speak i was just a bit gutted as Boz's got a GMC and a magnex system on his and sweet doesnt quite cover the sound of his i wanted in on the action

    dont drive the car any more until u get the sleeve tho else ull lock the ecu with the managemant light on then god nows how many times ull have to start it before it goes off speak to gmc hell put u right

    yes I know but when I ordered the manifold in the first place i stated that i wanted it to house both sensors, which in turn was slightly more expensive. I'm guna get one of those sleeves and be done with it

    What are Milltex like for manifolds? I hear they do a nice one for the 106GTi's but for a VTR say?!

    well the gmc manifold i bought has piper plate on it so i assume so but i dont think piper sell them direct to the public

    hello mate
    defo a prob with the lambda sensor there mate, check everywhere for leaks
    did you fit it yourself??
    did you fit a new gasket?
    tighten all the studs correctly??
    did you fit new clamps, springs etc??
    
    i have the gmc manifold, magnex de-cat and magnex single box system (but you all ready know that )
    
    she should sound sweet and go alot better with the right manifold fitted.
    
    im fitting a new radiator today (saturday) giv me a bell and pop round if you want me to have a look for you

    I didnt fit it myself no, new clamps were used along with new springs and a new gasket yeah. You could pop round like if you dont mind, although i dont have your number and craigs on holiday so i cant get through to him for it
