    Hi

I have a knocking, scrapping noise from the nearside, which you can feel through the floor pan. This only happens when steering left.
Is the the drive shaft ?
Only passed its MOT last week after having a new rear axle fitted.

    Thanks

    Thanks
Do you know how much that will set me back ?
Is it still ok to drive until I get it sorted ?

sounds like driveshaft but could be knackered wheel bearing as iv just had this same noise from the o/s and it was wheel bearing.

driveshaft is 70ish quid from eurocarparts
wheel bearing is around 25quid for the bearing and i paid a garage a 10er to press the old one out and the new one in after taking the strut off myself.

I wouldnt drive it a lot at all if its like that tbh mate just get it sorted asap.

I drove mine on a nackered cv joint for nearly 1k miles and be the end of it i only had 1/2 a turn of left steering i could use else the joint would not engage. but i had to use it to get to work etc as i live 20 miles away and my car is the only way to get there.

in summary: dont use unless you really have to.

Same here, drove back from work (50mile round trip) and it wouldnt turn 1/4 steering wheel, but got in it tonight to go out and it was fine, strange. But have to use it to get to work.

Try a local motor factors its much cheaper than eurocarparts, and that way you can always take the old driveshaft to them to compare it, i got mine the other day and got the wrong one, make sure its exactly the same or else you will get more problems

second hand driveshafts are about £20 and fitting shouldnt be much its only a small job.
