#2any help would be great.

#3Try suspension section matey, people too stubborn to answer this kinda question outta that section.
This section is for mindless shit like "whats your favourite colour sock!" i'm afraid
-
#4its there to help you remove the end plate to remove the ARB
screw the top rear damper bolt into it to press the ARB out -
#5sorry mate not sure what you mean? ive been searching on the net and every other saxo has a screw on either side plates but mine only has the screw holes on the passenger side?
-
#6Later models only had the plug on one end. Don't know why they took one off, guess they were just saving a few pennys.
-
#7They have a tear drop shape end plate with a nut on the skinny end. You have to undo them. Then if you undo the little plastic screw you can just screw a slide hammer in there and pull the bar out along with that end plate.
-
#10That works too but you have to get one of the tear drop plates off first. Some times they can be stuck and if this is so its a slide hammer job or try and pry off with crowbar. Though crowbar does tend to damage things

#11thanks for all the responses. if i get a slide hammer in the passenger side, which thread do i need to put it into as it has a large one and a smaller thread inside that 1?
-
#12screw into the big thread that the plastic cap covers, undo the 13mm bolt iirc. then pull it off undo the 13mm bolt the other side and slide the arb out

#13again thanks for all the responses. is it a big job changing the bearings? also i need to lower my car as the front is lowered. the reason the bearings need changing is because i lowered it and it failed mot. if ive got new bearings on the rear can i lower it then and will the same thing happen? ive been told that the only reason the bearings broke was because they were sat in the normal ride height for a few years then it got lowered but if it got lowered on new bearings they would not break. is this correct? in other words how can i lower my saxo without the bearings going wrong?
-
#14fit new bearings and lower it the correct method
the spline method damages the bearings (removing the trailing arm and re fitting them at different notches)
replace your bearings then pull both torsion bars out. set the trailing arm height and refit the bars. do a search on here for guides -
#15when i lowered it last time i removed the torsion bars and set the height that way but it still busted my bearings????
-
#16oh right in that case, general wear and tear. your just unlucky
-
#18i was looking into changing the whole axle!!!! think im jus gunna do the bearings then. thanks for the responses. much appreciated.

#21i bought the car new. i dont really pul the life out of it but it has been sat unused for a year while i was in australia. could this cause them to break?
