hi all ive been offered some 17" alloys for my saxo vtr y reg , will they fit or will they rub , its running standard height ta chris

You'll need spacers mate. i put 17" on my saxo and the back wheels are almost jammed ont he suspension strut. They are too wide basically, guessing they are 205/""/17?

yes they are mate . so do u think i should leave it

Well it's upto you mate, unless your up for buying some spacers to compensate for it. However the likelyhood of you having rubbing problems even with spacers is pretty risky when you have a full back seat, being 17" as apposed to 14"

Yeah it's a bit of a problem, i'm having to think about whether my saxo is gonna rub when i lower it on 15"s, that or 14"

Hia m8, ive fitted 17's to a mk2 vtr my self and it does include alot of work but its possible. If you can get hold of a saxo haynes manual it tells you step by step, you dont need to roll the arches you need to take the splash guards out and move the washer bottle forward a few inch then beat the inner front arches to get more turning circle. (carefull or you will fuck the wings up!!!!) Then pull out the plastic air duck boxing from the rear arches and cut away the bumper brackets and protruding metal brackets and other bits and pieces that you will notice. It took me and my mate about 6 hours to cut and grind everything back then seal and paint to protect it from rust. The back bumper stays on by the metal clips you will find ( i also drilled some small holes through the inside of the arch and bumper and held them together with black small tie wraps.) Take away everything possible and you can have a 60mm drop with 5 people and no rubbing!!! By the way the post off the person with the 1.1 obviously hasnt thought that his is a flat arch and not a vtr!!! This will save you about £300+ and you will be well happy if you dare do it!

Also i forgot to say you only need spacers if the offset of the wheel isnt right. Some do some dont but the place you bought them should have told you. Hope this helps you m8
