   the crank has a pulley at one end for the alternator and the flywheel at the other. a smaller and lighter crank pulley at one end means less power is needed to turn the alternator, but you wont power the alternator as much so if you have audio and stuff on with headlights etc you may not be getting enough power to the alternator to charge the battery enough
