what will my bhp be?

  1. #1
    have a mk2 vtr (53plate) so 98bhp.

what would i have with a

    serviced twice a year
    supersprint full system
    raceland 4-2-1 manifold
forced induction kit (bmc or whatever)
    vts gearbox
    bnm quickshift
    lowerd 40mm
    polybushes allround
    upper and lower strut brace

what bhp would i be looking at?

also obv the box and quickshift wont help bhp but with all this done would it keep up with a vts or be close?
  2. #2
Probably about 105bhp. To get anywhere near VTS pace you'd probably need some mild cams with remap. But then you may aswell just whack a 16v engine in there for the same price.
  3. #3
but been told that its only like a few car lengths apart from the vtr to vts so surely it will make a noticable difference with all those mods like the box etc
  4. #4
With them mod's there won't be much difference between your 8v and a std 16v.
  5. #5
Just stick some nos on it, blow VTS's out the water, easyyy
  6. #6
I think with those mods, keeping up with a 16v is a little ambitious. Like Ben said "you may aswell just whack a 16v engine in there"
  7. #7
    but its the insurance
  8. #8
With similar mods, car stripped, and a 1.1 gearbox, I was just keeping up with a standard 16v...
  9. #9
1.1 gear box, would you not run out of puff straight away tho?

and whats the difference from all of those mods on a vtr compared to a vts conversion insurance wise? and money wise (would obv have to change gearbox aswell anyway)

serviced twice a year - No increase in bhp
supersprint full system - 3/4 bhp (with decat)
raceland 4-2-1 manifold - 3/4 bhp (with decat)
forced induction kit (bmc or whatever) (not forced.. That's enclosed). Over the standard system - 1/2 bhp (if any)
    vts gearbox - none
    bnm quickshift - none
    lowerd 40mm -none
    polybushes allround - none
upper and lower strut brace - none

whats the point in being a dik, you know what i ment for bhp and for speed

I'd have to agree. That was a bit bitchy. Why declaire the 16v on your insurance? It would probbably be nearly twice as much for 20bhp........

Nope, pulls quite happily up to naughty figures. And on the rollers, it made a whole..... 103bhp.

Don't get your knickers in a twist.

You asked a question, I answered.

Granted it was a shit question which gets asked daily but I still took my time to answer.

yeah chris my vts gearbox gave me 10bhp, and i wont even go into how much power i got when i lowered it
  16. #16
id just do the 16v route mate. you could do probably do it cheaper if you get a bargain on an engine. i picked up a 16valve engine for 140 quid. i got mine for spares but you can fit it yourself and do the exhaust system

tbf 'mr-p' did answer your question lol

    so

    98 bhp starting

    Adding 3+3+1 = 7

    98+7 = 105 and a vts being 120 standard...my assumption would be probably not..
