Ford Fiesta Diff whine

   Hi Guys, has anyone on here had issues with fiesta gearbox / diffs.
   
   Reason i ask is my partner has an 03 plate fiesta Ghia, about a month a go the car started to whine and its getting louder and louder now.
   
   The car has only done 50,000 miles and we have been told the diff is knackered............and apparantly its a common fault.

   if its had many standing starts and things that will kill the diff quicker too.
   
   Have you changed the gearbox oil ever..?

   ford gear box are very hard to brake lol i never came across the diff going in them before but there always a 1st

   As above, gotta have been run with low oil or incorrect grade to go that early. The ford stuff is solid in compariosson to citroen/peugeot MA box's
