mango saxo paint problem

  1. #1
hey peps, just wondering if anyone here has personally painted the mango saxo colour on their car? My problem is that i stripped all front end parts of my car cos they were wrecked (cracked,holes,rust/fella before me didnt look after car at all and i purchased it for project for couple hundred quid.) i got all second hand gd parts to replace everything dropped them to painter last wk and got parts back today. You would think a 2year old had painted them, his excuse is that the mango colour is real hard to paint and he had used litres and litres of paint for wot he has done. parts of it u can still see colour of primer under the mango. its really crap. ALL parts are goin back to him 2moro.
Just wondering if its as hard to paint the mango colour as he wot is making out? i couldnt see it be any harder than any other colour.

heres a pic of my mutlicolour car before parts went to painter.

no tbh its the same as any other colour to spray with. it might not be exactly the same shade as the original colour tho

i didnt think it would be any different than painting any other colour but just thot i'd find out.

i know it mite not be rite shade when it first goes on but i'm gonna colour sand the rest of the car to freshen the paint all up, should do the job.

not to sound too bad, but the sprayer doesn;t sound too good with excuse like that and like u say leaving patches where u can see the primer. from what i hear and do correct me, but sprayers can more o rless match in the colour to match the older paint????

the guys is obviously wank at paintwork mate.

when going to any bodyshop i always check there work, have a look at the booth and gnerally how clean the place looks as paintwork in dusty areas is a bad idea.

it isnt any different to any other colours, some colours take more to cover others but 3 decent coats should have it covered no problem..

Do you have any pictures??? What was he charging if you dont mind me asking and what is the bodyshops name and location??

    Thanks

only problem really would be the actuall matching of the paint. it shouldnt be any harder to physically paint the parts tbh.

the parts are all back in with him getting sorted now.hopefully get them back on monday or tuesday.this will be my last time using him. i've used him for few years on all my cars. he done an excellent job on my last car (206).thanks for all ur replies. i dont know much about painting so just wanted to see wot other people thot.

there are usually a few different tinted shades wit these lovely french cars making it harder to match but from what your saying the paint is see through so matching isnt the issue. If he cant cover up primer with paint then id use somebody else and ask for my money back

even if mango is a swine to match (which yellows are tbh) the idea of primer still showing stinks of shoddy workmanship. i've sprayed more cars then i care to remember, and yes, we do get some mis-match between old and new paint,it can't be helped due to fading unless you blow it all in, if he has used as much paint as he reckons there shouldn't be anything showing through

A good paint sprayer will be able to spray any car any colour & match the paint up,closely with the older paint.
