Gearing quiery!

   ok this i wierd!
   
   i was driving the Mrs car yesterday to Whipsnade Zoo... (recomended) i came to a round about & popped it into 2nd! i thought "Oh that went in easily" when to pull away & there was no drive what so ever!!! i changed up & it was ok! changed back down & again! NO DRIVE in 2nd!
   
   WTF is going on... if its in gear its in gear! & should move RIGHT!!???

   not unless you have stripped second or the linkage is fucked and is not selecting second

   if the linkage was fukt then u wouldnt have 4th or reverse either.sounds like 2nd gear in the box is fukt mate.new box needed in other words..

   yer i agree with scott. if you had stripped it it wouldn't be making a very nice noise but other than that it surely cant be anything other than a f*^"ed gear linkage

   i agree buggered linkage normally would take out other gears with it, but then stranger things have happened

   it does it in 1st & 3rd sometimes according to the Mrs.
   Its a 106 1.1... drives ok but gears are so clonky! TBH i was heal toeing it! it needed a good drive as all she does is short distances... it stuterd a lil on the motor way but hardly a problem other than the box!!
   
   new box needed then!

   it dropped into wot i thought was 2nd so so easily.. its like it was inbetween gears!! if that makes sence!? wierd!
