There's plenty of threads on this over on detailing world. Pro's and Con's of it.

Basically T-Cut is a very harsh polish and the polishing 'Beads' which give it's abrasive cut quality do not break down as you use it. Where as other polishes become less abrasive as you work it, resulting in a finer finish.

T-Cut can be used as a polish in a lot of cases but needs to be followed up with finer polishes to produce a quality finish. The reason why it's not used often with the pro's and why it's got such a bad name is because it is so abrasive. This is also the reason you see easy reults whilst hand polishing.

    you should

first off all give it a really good wash,

Clay all the paintwork to remove any overspray and contaminates etc etc

Then i would use the meguiars 3 step polishing system. Its quite simply 3 bottles, step 1 removes some scratches etc etc, step 2 is a fine polish to refine the paintwork after step1, step 3 if like a wax so that adds protection.

Personally i would get steps 1 and 2 and instead of step 3 use a better quality wax.

i use tcut on my white car. it gets the stains out. not sure if its just my car but white is a pain in the butt for picking up marks, rust flakes and tar.
