   I was looking to buy a short shift. Will i need new gear rods aswell as the quickshift. How much am i looking to pay for an average road use system - searched and found very little. not sure if im searching the wrong thing so thought id ask. cheers

   this is what i was planning on gettin... supposed to be very god. they sell them on kamracing... but cheaper on ebay me thinks... let me know if they are an good if you buy one mate!

   those compbrake quickshifts are shit imo. the collars that hold the gearstick in place always fall apart then you cant select gears.
   
   b&m are pretty good

   B&M or griffiths engineering one are ok imo
   
   Ive had a compbrake and wasnt pleased with that at all.

   i had a griffiths ebay copy for £15 and it was perfect!! used it for 50k miles and never had a single issue

   i have a griffiths eng 1 and its good, but now im used to it it feels the same as standard

   Do you just get the the little metal thing yeah?
   
   And it just makes the amount you move the gear stick shorter?
   
   Pretty much the same as cutting down the lever?

   yer just the metal block.
   you could do both and have a really short shift

   i have the compbrake and havnt had any problem with the collars and my car gets used on track days, jst make sure you tighten it properly with the allen key

    yes mate, didnt fancy cutting the gearstick, as i can always remove the quikshift if its going back to standard..

    x2, had the GE copy and its never caused any problems, well worth the 15 squid

    I have the Griffiths engineering one for £20 and its spot on, really makes a noticable difference imo

    Just to echo what people have said ^^^^ I have one and it's been faultless, gear shifts felt shorter but still smooth

    They are easy to fit - you just pop the left side of the top linkage off (as you stand infront of engine looking towards the car) and bolt the quickshift over the shifting mechanism, then pop the linkage onto the ball on the quickshift and away you go!!

    yep bang on really, ive got no complaints with my GE quickshift...cant complain at all for the money

    Better getting it straight from GE mate
