cleaning engine question

    This might make me sound stupid but I'm gonna ask anyway!!

    I want to power wash my engine, but do I leave the car running whilest doing it??

    use a bucket of soapywater and a toothbrush to save fucking up your electrics

    i was told that u need to leave it running so that its hot so it produces steam to steam clean it, just cover up the battery and elecrtics with bin bags and tape lol.

    dont do it, cos it will fuck all your electrics up, i am a mechanic and we are always repairing vehicles where the engine has been steamed or pressure washed.

    if u want to clean your engine i would use paraffin..might be dangerous but it does a pukka job!.

    I would agree with Jaybiss, a bucket of water and a tooth brush would be best!!!
