   bloody things are stuck open! ive soaked them both in wd40. managed to get one closed but the other is stuck open.
   
   any ideas and is the common? bought these new. been on the car 3 months.

   all you can do mate is allow the wd40 to soak in and keep trying, very poor though with them only being 3 months old.

   we gave them a wiggle as we were pushing and put a little pressureon the pin the popped through

   One of mine did this, i just used a key to push the pin forwards.

   ive closed them now. i had to get a pliar on the piston and slide that in manualy.
   
   if i open them fully they lock open. ive a set on my saxo and subaru. both as old as each other. its the bloody saxo thats stick. both are kept outside and do regular road miles.

   Shit, was interested in a set of these, you pay a fair bit for what in reality will cost under a quid to make. Wont be getting any now

   Lol, I just think they look better than normal bonnet pins. I would definately buy them again.

    screwdriver into the mechanism to lift the pin up as you push the lever down often is needed on mine and was on kevs 172

    Happened once on 1 of mine as Alex mentioned
    
    Small flat blade screwdriver enabled it to close again
    
    Applied some WD40 and opened and closed it a few times and its been fine since
    
    Probably should have put some WD40 on when theyre first fitted, perhaps its like most things and takes a lil bit of time to free up when new.
