182 vs vts (cammed)

   Just got home had a little run in with a black clio 182, thought he would leave me for dead but i got in front stayed in front and by the time 120 popped up had a car and a half on him!

   You had better edit your post to say you were over in Germany on the Autoban or possibly at your local race track before the thread is locked. But yes I am always a little shocked as to how slow the Clios are. I guess they carry a lot of weight about with them.

   I dont like the fact your happy you raced on a public road where other car's could have been or even people, if you had had a crash u would have died or killed some1 else.
   
   However on the point i have had a 182 clio and iv compared that to my cammed VTS and i agree i am suprised that i feel my saxo to be quicker then the clio. Clio 182's hit the power band at 5000rpm which isnt good as the lowwer end is slow.

   i too had a 182, was a cup innit, pile of poo under 5k and felt like i was driving a bus with the big arse steering wheel and high seating position. not particularly relevant i suppose but its my 1p worth.

   well a cammed vts is a little sardine can compared to a clio182 lol which sounds like a boat to drive anyways loool in terms of steering postion etc

    Personaly I couldn't care wether it was legal, ilegal, whatever. This type of thread just bores me because after having read about seven million of them it seems clear that the saxo is obviously the fasest car in the world.

    ive chased a ferrari 430 to 140 mph in my old cammed stripped out vts down the m6 in rush hour traffic so really i dont see a huge issue lol

    I'd rather get in the trophy and drive it than any saxo/106 of any spec(inc boosted, tb'd etc)
    
    And as for street racing, some threads are hillarious. Say one person put their foot down one second before the other, then there would be an instant advantage. Say one person was in the wrong gear for optimal acceleration when the rolling race started? There are so many variables. That's why street racing unless properly organised on closed areas of industrial estate, is pointless and inconclusive.

    I've raced clio 182s on the quarter mile and beat them and my car is a cammed vts so I doubt you would go past them unless you have a similar spec.
