No - i am currently using the exact set that i have linked too.

As explained both sets of drilled and grooved disks i had cracked badly.I have had no problems with the ones i linked too. Good braking, very little fade even from high speed and little wear 1 year on.

Cheaper than ones you linked too also.........

I dont rate the brakes in my vtr at all, you really have to give them a good push so you can stop, scary stuff.

stay away from drilled brake disks as they will not last.
Some plain disks and some mintex 1144's should see to your needs.

And thats probably one of the exact reasons they crack so badly.........

I think its due to the fact most of the drilled and grooved are made to the same spec as the producers standard discs and the drilling and grooving procedure weakens them. If they were to make the drilled and grooved discs to a higher spec before the procedure they may be slightly better. I may be wrong though

i got a full set a front a bac grooved discs and green stuff pads for 150 of ebay few weeks ago and i would recommend them. wouldn't by drilled as they crack....

new plain disks with some mintex '44's will be fine

1144's are perfect for road use and light track use....just get a set of good quality standard discs....jimbo's set up is one of many that we have done like this and it works a great.

Why not upgrade to bigger bakes? Best thing you could do imo

My 266mm set up cost me £130

An that consists of calipers (off a xsara hdi), OE dics & pads (new) 23mm master cylinder, braided lines, dot4 brake fluid...

isn't there another upgrade from a 406 thats around 280mm? that sounds more worth while to me.

what about servo's? can you upgrade them ?

The 406 barkes are brembo's, you need 16 or 17mm spacers, there's also the 283mm set up witch can be found off a 306 gti-6

No point in changeing the servo imo
