Broken clutch arm

okay so this is how it happened, i dropped my bro off at work and on the way back i heard a crack then my clutch pedal went floppy and no gears to which at first i thought my clutch had gone. now been on the ruffest estate in the city i managed to get the car in to 2nd gear and cruise home with out stopping.

when i did get home on closer inspection where the clutch cable attaches to the arm, the arm has actually half split off so altho its attached i cant change gear.

anyone else ever suffered with this?

you mean the selecto fork then, the actual arm has snapped?? best to get a picture

no its not the selector fork i mean the clutch arm where the clutch cable goes to from the pedal were gonna arch weld it back together tomoz and ill get a pic tomoz once the battery tray is out of the way.

if its the fork that operates the release bearing, then yes, i have seen them snap. not just on saxos, used to be common on vauxhalls, usually when the clutch was getting past it and so making the pedal feel heavy, put too much strain on the fork and sheared them

okay so its not just me then lol, well thats sorted anyway all done today but unfortunatly i decided to clean the engine bay and now the car runs 2 if not 1 cylinder which im hoping is because something has just got abit wet and needs to dry out. that and the cab filled with smoke when i turned my radio on, looks like the switched live has kicked the bucket lol
