Can anyone tell me what these two pipes are for and if i need them where they are please

  2. #2
i would like to know also? can one be replaced with a breather filter?

Can anyone give me some advice?

The one going onto the rocker cover is the breather filter. You can remove the tube you circled and put a breather filter on the end of the remaining rocker cover pipe.

Dont know what the one at the back is for.

Measure the pipe thats on the rocker just above the yellow thing, then the breather goes on the right after you have taken the pipe you have circled off.

    Try Demon Tweeks or Ebay

    Filter looks a bit knackered

Could get a intake pipe, move the filter away from the hot engine, then get a heat shield for around £13, then some ducting from the grill for some cold air

Heat shield will help stop hot air getting sucked in: http://www.carnoisseurdirect.com/epa...l&Locale=en_GB
Hot air = Less power so its a good thing to have

    Ducting: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALUMINIUM-COLD...118a11ffe2f287
Directs cold air from front of the car to the filter. Cold air = More power

There is better ducting out there, this stuff is quite flimsy but was just a example.

Hope i have been a help.

^ Best cold air feed imo

There are many ways to fit it mate, most people either:

    1. Most common - Mesh the grill and make a hole in it for the ducting to stick the trumpet on the end out of it.

    2. Buy twin morette headlights, and take one of the lights out and put the trumpet there leaving one light remaining

But when you mesh the grill and have it in there wont you have problems opening the bonnet?

I dont know mate, its just where i have seen them put in the past Suppose your could just take it out when opening the bonnet?

Another place is take a fog light out and put it there. Could try and attatch it to where the original one went to?

Great help this thread thanks VTR123. BTW apparently its not best to put where a fog light is because of puddles and copious amounts of water getting in, you could cut a hole in your bumper somewhere and put it there? sometimes looks quite cool too

The back rubber pipe needs to be connected to the induction kit so that air gets to it,because it provides a vacuum for the brakes(without it no brakes).
