Important! : gear play?

   hi peeps ive got a vtr only had it couple days car is great its a 1998 done 81k but the thing is the gear lever seems to have way to much play in it and also when i bring the clutch back up after changing gear there is a little bang type thing coming from the engine has the linkage between the box and lever gone
   plzz help as it is so anoying

   im not 100% on mechanics but my vtr is a 1998 and my gear lever when in gear goes round like a waltzer lol tbh my mates was the same im gettin new gear linkages and a quickshift kit the quickshift kit is probably the quickest easiest way of curing it lol im not 100/% please correct me if im wrong hope this helps

   Its the roll pin that holds the selector onto the actual box

   It's a common fault on most saxos that you have stupid amounts of play in the gear box,
   nothing to worry about.
   i'd be worried about the bang tho

   mine has a lot of play too, especially when it struggles and in reverse
   the gear stick goes mad, sometimes 1st gear knocks out! but i dont think its much to worry about

   Mine does this too! Really annoys me.
   
   On my to do list. Afaik replacing the gear linkage rods, fitting a GE quickshift and changing some ruber grommit thing on the bottom of the gear stick is supposed to help!
