Help? Interior Door Panels

  1. #1
Right, I'm getting some 106 door bins next week, and i want something like this to go on the top half of the doors (you know what i mean!)
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot-106-Ci...item230385b970

but i dont want to spend out a fortune on Carbon Fibre,
i was wondering if anyone has any places/suggestions as to where i could get something similar?
Maybe like aluminium versions or something?

    Cheeeeers!

Measure up the sections you want then get some plywood & cover it with the fake carbon fibre(in vinyl rolls)

    Steve.

as long as you have a template, then you can cover it in what you want, will look no different. will weigh alot more though lol

    black perspex?
  8. #8
just get sheet plastic (like perspex) and cover in CF vinyl, will probably weigh less than CF as well since it doesn't need the strength of CF

As long as its safe, no exposed electrics for example. Theres loads of perspex on ebay but you can also try B&Q or similar.

I dont like the thought of perspex as its horrible to work with,
im thinking ali or hardboard/3mm ply

would have thought the 3mm mdf wrapped in either carbon fibre sheet or fabric cover would look pretty good?

Perspex can be a bitch, but transparrent perspex with subtle lighting can look the buisiness. Mind you it is hard to shape without heating up.
