Spacers...Yay or nay?

  1. #1
Ive got OZ superturismos which are the correct ET for saxos, but i could still space the wheels out a bit to give it a better stance.

Shall i get some 20mm spacers or not?
  2. #2
only put more pressure on wheel bearings so not the best idea
  3. #3
i would stick on 10mm hubcentric spacers
  4. #4
other people say they've had 20mm spacers on and its been fine?
  5. #5
A mate of mine Danny Hall had spacers on his and the stance did look so much better imo

I HAVE 20MM SPACERS AND I MUST SAY IT DOES MAKE A DIFFRENCE DO IT.

    fair comment! nice wheels

also thinking of doing this just not sure hubcentric would be alot better.
  11. #11
if your going to do it then make sure you get hubcentric ones
  12. #12
Assuming the current wheels are ET15, a set of 10mm spacers will be more than good enough.

20mm spacers will mean an ET of -5!

i have ET16, but danny hall had the same wheels as me and had 20mm spacers on. im assuming he also had saxo fitment so ET16.

but i would defo get hubcentrics! are hubcentrics okay on the wheel bearings and axles?

Purely in my opinion I felt they were too spaced out. For a daily car its would maybe be a bit of a concern.

I dont know the full science behind it but the wheel is a fairly far way out then from the wheel hub which im sure isnt a good thing long term.

fair enough mate. may not bother then as i havnt seen any 2nd hand 10mm spacers for sale. its just when i look at my car from directly behind i always think the wheels could do with some spacers.

Agree with Mark51 Hubcentric all the way.

I found that if your cars down 40mm or lower with 2 or 3 people in the back it will rub on the back arches with no work done.

To get round doing any outer arch work (meaning vt kit) i fitted streched tyres so it brings the wall of the tyre away from the arch im down 40mm with 16's with 3 up i get no rubbing at all does just misses the outer arch by mm's thoe lol inner arch just needs half inch taken off not to rub

i have 10mm spacers on the rear of my car and they have been ok, think there hub centric but im not an expert on wheels tbh

do give it a better stance, best to measure from the tyre to the arch, just to check if 10mm will make it catch

na i dont think 10mm will catch....doubt even 20mm will catch....mainly because my car isnt low enough that the arch sits on the tyre, so i could stick my wheel out a 10 cm and it would still not hit the arch as the arch is above the wheel if you get me.
hubcentric is where you screw the sapcer into the hub, then screw the wheel into the spacer

i wana get some for my pro races dont know weather to get 10, 15, 20mm?

my mate had 10mm spigert rings(i think that what they are called) and we never had any trouble with them.

i think you should mate would look so good from behind

I'd of thought the bearings wouldn't like that =/

Do they make the car handle any better?
