moving electric window switches

  1. #1
im thinking of moving the electric window switches to above where the stereo is,
    has anyone tried it
  2. #2
when i asked they said it was just a case of extenting the wires, i didn;t do it in the end tho as i couldn;t find any switches i liked the look of.

yeah it would just be a case of taking the wires back from the doors and adding them to new switches elsewhere...

i'm thinking of doing this, i'm sick of people trying to open the window but not being able to find the switch lol

Nice idea, will look good but as a general idea window switches usually dont go on the dash. But its good to be different

i no but i want the switches out of the way, if i can use that then its only small and discrete on the dash

switches in the ash tray sounds very interesting

how did you fix them down?

yeah the hardest bit will be finding switches to fit a self made aperture.
all you do then is reroute the wires up into the dash.
i wouldnt have thought the clio mirror adjuster would work, just get some switches.
could possibly put 2 windows on 1 switch to save space.
is there anything in the pug/ cit range that may be useful to you? this may make it a simpler task.

make a small insert to the ash tray that would accomodate the switches.
make a hole the right size to accomodate the switches.
personally i think the first option would be easier as the switches are quite deep set and may foul the opening/ closing action of the tray.

i wasnt too bothered about it being from the clio
its was the first pic i came across

was thinking that there must be a few terminals at the back of the switch to solder to

so i could change from mirror left and use up and down then change the position to right to do the same for the rhs, when not in use move it to the neutral position

my foots in plaster at the moment so cant get to a scrap yard to see what terminals are behind the switches
so its all theory at the moment

sounds like it could work with the mirror adjuster then, but tbh i know f all about car electrics! worth a bash i suppose, the parts are cheap enough and can be rigged up prior to fitting.

I like them where they are =/

aslong as its a three way switch... you could have anything, anywhere.
    go wild.

good thinking though dude. i ould imagine the clio mirror ones working well tbh!
