got a mk2 vtr but its th mk1 vtr engine, its got a 4-2-1 stainless steel manifold, pipercross induction kit janspeed exhuast with a decat in it.
anybody have a rough idea how much of a gain ive got? cheers.

    about 0-6bhp
  3. #3
you'v got your breathing mods so cam it next
  4. #4
    What Pipercross? Open or enclosed?

Anywhere upto around 10bhp is achievable from breathing modifications
  5. #5
open so its more than likely losing power goin to get something enclosed then a cam
  6. #6
open isnt good, get an enclosed, and a cold air feed to it, reduce the heat soak.

by the time youve bought a cam mate, you could have thrown a vts in there lol

    dont give me ideas:L

VTRs dont have that much difference, the 8bhp isnt really that noticable tbh

After how long did you pull away?

And things like the driver, how well its been maintained, driver weight, stuff in the car weight. Most cars lose a few BHP over time aswell. There really is nothing in it, suppose it helped a bit and you where probably the better driver

well it was afta turning of a roundabout, he gunned it away then i gunned it and by the time 3rd gear kiked in i was cruising past him lol

my 99 vtr with a viper, decat(but on the day was blowing like fuck) on a team dynamics rr made 96bhp so with a 4-2-1 mani got to be over 100bhp

Believe me the 90 and 98bhp models there is a fairly noticeable difference all round, mind you my last 98bhp saxo was stripped.

i keep reading posts on various topics about power gains and people are stating 8bhp etc etc.
I run in the stock hatch championship with a Saxo VTR with about 35 other VTRs were all get about 120-130 bhp on our stock engine and we still have to use standard induction filters and inlets.
my car is 127bhp and been checked on 3 rolling roads about and been the same give or take 2bhp

    best engine combination is

Mk1 head on mk2 bottom end as it highers compression running a pugsport system on standard exhaust manifold and MBE ecu! thats all

you will find 50% of the championship run the same spec and get the same power.
